Centre Notifies Appointment Of Three Judicial Officers And Two Advocates As Judges For Different High Courts
The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of three judicial officers as judges of the Rajasthan High Court, following recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 22, 2024.
The appointed judges are:
- Chandra Shekhar Sharma,
- Pramil Kumar Mathur, and
- Chandra Prakash Shrimali.
The notification dated January 23, 2025 read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Chandra Shekhar Sharma, (ii) Pramil Kumar Mathur and (iii) Chandra Prakash Shrimali, to be Judges of the Rajasthan High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume the charge of their respective offices.”
In another notification Advocate Praveen Kumar Giri has been appointed as a judge of the Allahabad High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge.
This appointment also follows the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation on December 22, 2024. After this appointment, the Allahabad High Court will have 79 judges, against its sanctioned strength of 160.
The notification dated January 23, 2025, read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Praveen Kumar Gin, to be a Judge of the Allahabad High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
Furthermore, with the same recommendation by the Collegium Advocate Pravin Sheshrao Patil has been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court for a period of two years, effective from the date he assumes charge of his office.
The notification dated January 23, 2025, read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Pravin Sheshrao Patil, to be an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
