The High Court of Delhi was established in October, 1966 after the enactment of the Delhi High Court Act, 1966. Till 1971, the Delhi High Court also had jurisdiction over the state of Himachal Pradesh.
The sanctioned strength of Judges of the Delhi High Court is 45 permanent and 15 additional judges.
