After objection and complaint by the former Law Minister of Karnataka Suresh Kumar S, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar has decided not to attend the event and share the dias with Justice AS Bopanna of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale and Justice K. Somashekar of the Karnataka High Court.

Shivakumar was to share ideas with the Judges on August 12 during the State Level Advocates' Conference organised by the Karnataka State Bar Council and the Mysore Bar Association.

Suresh Kumar had commented on social media that earlier, those who share dias with judges were asked if they have any cases pending against them. He had also said that it is well known that Shivakumar has cases against him before the High Court and the Supreme Court.

Later, the BJP leader filed a complaint before the Registrar of the Karnataka High Court objecting to the Judges sharing dias with Shivakumar.

The Karnataka State Bar Council and the Mysore Bar Association have now issued a revised invite for the event, deleting the name of the Deputy Chief Minister from the list of chief guests of the inaugural session of the event. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as fixed earlier and will be attended by State Law Minister HK Patil and Bar Council of India Chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra, in addition to the three judges.
