Former Law Minister of Karnataka, Suresh Kumar S, has objected to Justice AS Bopanna of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale and Justice K. Somashekar of the Karnataka High Court sharing the dias with Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar.

The judges are expected to share ideas with the Congress leader on August 12 during the State Level Advocates' Conference organised by the Karnataka State Bar Council and the Mysore Bar Association.

Suresh Kumar has commented on social media that earlier, those who share dias with judges were asked if they have any cases pending against them. He has said that it is well known that Shivakumar has cases against him before the High Court and the Supreme Court.

"Is it appropriate for such a person to participate in this programme with Supreme Court and High Court Judges?", asked Suresh Kumar on social media.

S. Suresh Kumar was the Minister of Law & Parliamentary Affairs of Karnataka between 2008 and 2013. He has thereafter held the portfolios of Minister of Labour and Minister of Primary & Secondary Education of Karnataka.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court dismissed CBI’s appeal challenging the Karnataka High Court's order staying the probe in a disproportionate assets case against DK Shivakumar, noting that the High Court's order is an interim order.

Apart from Shivakumar, the event will be attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Law Minister HK Patil and Bar Council of India Chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra.
