Centre Notifies Transfer Of Delhi High Court Judge To Calcutta High Court

The Ministry of law and Justice has notified the transfer of Delhi High Court Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma to the Calcutta High Court, following the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on March 27.
Justice Sharma began his judicial career in 1992 when he joined the Delhi Judicial Service. He was later elevated to the Higher Judicial Service in 2003. Over the years, he has held several significant positions, including serving as the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court and the Principal District & Sessions Judge, New Delhi. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute and has played a crucial role in training mediators under the Supreme Court’s Mediation Project. His elevation to the position of a judge in the Delhi High Court took place on February 28, 2022.
The notification dated April 01, 2025 read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Judge, Delhi High Court, to be a Judge of the Calcutta High Court and to direct him to assume charge of his office in the Calcutta High Court.”
