Centre Notifies Appointment Of New Chief Justice For Meghalaya High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Soumen Sen as Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
The Law Minister, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal notified the development today through X (previously Twitter).
The Supreme Collegium had recommended his name in a meeting held on September 11, 2025 with two other names out of which Justice Pavankumar Bhimappa Bajanthri has already been notified as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court on September 20, 2025.
The tweet read, "In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Soumen Sen, Judge, Calcutta High Court as Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya with effect from the date he assumes charge of the office. I convey my best wishes to him."
