The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Pavankumar Bhimappa Bajanthri as the next Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his appointment on September 11, 2025 along with two other judges for different High Courts.

The notification released on the Ministry’s website today read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1 ) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Pavankumar Bhimappa Bajanthri, Judge of the Patna High Court, to be Chief Justice of the Patna High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
