The Ministry of Law and Justice notified the appointments of four lawyers as judges of the Rajasthan High Court.

The notification dated March 26, 2025 was published on the ministry’s website. The Advocates are:

  1. Anand Sharma,
  2. Sunil Beniwal,
  3. Sandeep Shah, and
  4. Mukesh Rajpurohit.

These appointments come after the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended seven names earlier this month, but only four of those were approved by the Law Ministry.

Additionally, on the same day, the Ministry issued a notification confirming three additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to permanent judges. The three judges who have now been made permanent are:

  1. Justice Sumeet Goel,
  2. Justice Sudeepti Sharma, and
  3. Justice Kirti Singh.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended this move on March 19, after the judges served as additional judges since November 2023.

Furthermore, the Central government on March 26 also approved the extension of the terms of three additional judges at the Chhattisgarh High Court for one more year. The judges whose terms have been extended are Justice Sachin Singh Rajput, Justice Radhakishan Agrawal, and Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal.

These extensions come after the Supreme Court Collegium, on March 20, recommended the move. This is the second extension for Justices Rajput and Agrawal, who were initially appointed as additional judges in 2022. Justice Rajput, who was elevated from the Bar, was appointed in May 2022, while Justice Agrawal, a former district and sessions judge, was elevated in August 2022.

Justice Jaiswal, who was appointed as an additional judge in April 2023, has had his term extended as well.
