Update: 2022-06-16 05:15 GMT

Justice Jasmeet Singh quashed an FIR filed under Sections 323, 341, 506, 509, 354, and 34 of IPC, and directed the parties of the suit to work under the supervision of the Delhi Jal Board Team for 45 days to assist in the cleaning of the river Yamuna for 45 days.

Facts & History of the Case

A fight had ensued between the children of the complainant and the petitioners, wherein the parents also got involved.

Following the altercation, an FIR was filed by the complainants.

However, the parties to the suit had settled the matter amongst themselves, as the nature of the injuries as cited in the MLC were "simple".

The Court noted, "Both the parties regret their action and assure this Court that such actions will not take place in future."

On that, the Delhi High Court quashed the FIR and directed the petitioners and the respondents to duly report to and work under the supervision of the Delhi Jal Board Team and assist them in the cleaning of the river Yamuna for a period of 45 days.

The Court also directed the parties to submit the certificate issued to them by the Delhi Jal Board, post the 45 days, to be placed on record, within one week of the receipt of the said certificate.

"The parties shall report to the Member, Drainage within ten days from today. The Standing Counsel must be informed of each and every step taken in this regard," the Court directed.

The Court listed the matter for compliance on 16th August 2022.
