Punjab & Haryana High Court Refuses To Entertain PIL Seeking Change Of Name Of Farhan Akhtar's Movie '120 Bahadur'
The Punjab & Haryana High Court was considering a PIL seeking a change of name from ‘120 Bahadur’ to ‘120 Veer Ahir’.
The Punjab & Haryana High Court has refused to entertain a Public Interest Litigation seeking change of name of Farhan Akhtar starrer movie, from ‘120 Bahadur’ to ‘120 Veer Ahir’.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjiv Berry was informed that the film is set to be released on November 21, 2025, and despite that, the Petitioners' Revision petition under Section 6 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 and representation before the Central Government are still under consideration.
The Petitioner was represented by Advocate Manish Soni, while the Respondent was represented by Advocate Abhinav Sood.
Counsel for the Union of India assured that the Central Government would decide the said Revision within two days and filed an affidavit.
"In view of the aforesaid assurance, present petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to revisit the Court, in case they have any further grievance", the Court held.
