The High Court of Gujarat was established on May 1, 1960, following the bifurcation of the former State of Bombay into the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The High Court shifted to its new building at Sola, Ahmedabad in January, 1999.
The sanctioned strength of Judges of the Gujarat High Court is 39 permanent and 13 additional Judges.
