The Supreme Court of India launched a major digital initiative to modernize the legal system. The Chief Justice announced a new case management system that integrated data from the Supreme Court down to the local Taluka courts. This multi-level integration allowed for the first time a seamless flow of information between all levels of the judiciary and government departments.

Chief Justice Surya Kant announced, "This initiative is to strengthen this court’s case management system through a multi-level integration with the database of High Courts, District Courts, and the Government. First time it's happening that the entire data will be now integrated, and while sitting in Supreme Court, we'll have all complete details up to the District Court and Taluka Courts, and similarly, Taluka Courts will also have all the connectivity here..."

The new module automated the process of retrieving data from various court databases. It facilitated the swift online verification of case-related information, which increased the overall speed of legal proceedings. This reciprocal access ensured data integrity and enhanced transparency across the entire Indian judicial ecosystem.

"This new module will automate data retrieval from the concerned courts' database and facilitate swift online verification of case-related information. Reciprocal access of case information shall also be provided to High Courts and Government departments as and when required. This would ensure data integrity, enhance accuracy, and transparency", the Chief Justice said.

In addition to the data system, the court introduced an AI-powered chatbot called 'Su-Sahayak' The National Informatics Centre developed this tool in collaboration with the Registry to help citizens navigate the court's website. It provided a simple interface that guided users through essential e-services with prompt assistance.

"We are also launching 'Su-Sahayak,' an assisting chatbot for our website, developed by NIC in collaboration with the Registry. This will provide a simple and convenient interface for citizens to seek prompt, based guidance and assistance in accessing essential e-services of the court", the Court said.

The Chief Justice expressed his gratitude to the officers and the Registry for their hard work. He shared his confidence that these digital tools would benefit all stakeholders, including the members of the bar and the public.
