The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken cognizance of social media videos that show children in Hyderabad raising slogans of "sar tan se juda" while protesting against alleged blasphemous remarks by suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh.

The Commission has informed that it has asked the Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand to take action by registering an FIR for misusing children in protests as political tools.

The Commission has asked the top cop to take action within 7 days.

Police have been directed to record statements of the parents and submit an action taken report.

Protests had erupted in Hyderabad after a video allegedly showed Raja Singh making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammed. Following this, he was arrested but was released after the Court refused to remand him to custody. The Court aksed for him to be released since the police did not follow the correct procedure before arresting him.

Protesters were seen carrying black flags and raising slogans while condemning the release of Raja Singh. Rapid action force and police teams had to be deployed across the popular spots in Hyderabad to disperse the crowd.

Bhartiya Janata Party has suspended Raja Singh from the party following his remark. BJP has sought his reply within 10 days as to why he should not be expelled from the party. However, Raja Singh has denied the allegations and claimed that he has received a number of death threats from unknown people.

AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded the arrest of Singh over his remark. Many other leaders, including a Congress MLA, has threatened violence against Raja Singh for his alleged blasphemous remarks.
