Former Chief Minister and leader of opposition in Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has submitted a pen drive containing video of 125 hours to the Deputy Speaker of the state assembly, allegedly about a conspiracy by leaders of the ruling coalition, police officers and a Special Public Prosecutor to frame state BJP leaders in false cases.

By releasing the video on social media, the Maharashtra opposition has claimed that the office of Special Public Prosecutor Pravin Pandit Chavan has become the "hub for framing conspiracies against Opposition leaders".

As per Devandra Fadnavis, the video shows Pravin Chavan talking about meetings held at the highest level from the Chief Minister to the state DGP and the Police Commissioner to frame BJP leader Girish Mahajan under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

"From planting a knife to applying blood to the neck... to how to conduct a raid on Girish Mahajan and how to plant evidence and ensure that MCOCA is planted... entire conspiracy hatched by Chavan. Subsequently, even police and some ministers were a part of this conspiracy", a BJP leader tweeted about the video of the Special Public Prosecutor.

The party has claimed that the video shows how an attempt was made to frame Devandra Fadnavis, BJP state president Chandrakant Patil and BJP leaders Jaykumar Rawal, Subhash Deshmukh and Sudhir Mungantiwar in false cases.

Devendra Fadvanis, during his speech in the state assembly, read out transcripts from the videos and alleged that the FIR against BJP MLA Girish Mahajan was written by Pravin Chavan.

As per Fadnavis, the Prosecutor is seen saying in one of the videos that Sharad Pawar wants to finish the political career of Fadnavis and other BJP leaders and the Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey was given the task.

Leaders of BJP have sought a probe by the CBI into the matter.

The Special Public Prosecutor has told the media that he has no connections with the government and that he has not seen the video.
