Retired Judge of the Kerala High Court, Justice Sasidharan Nambiar has lost 90 lakhs of his savings in an cyber cheating case. An FIR has been registered at the Hill Palace Police Station at Ernakulam on the complaint of the former Judge.

Justice Nambiar was elevated as an additional Judge of Kerala High Court on in 2004 and was a Judicial Member of the National Green Tribunal from October 09, 2013 till January 02, 2018.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust),318(4) (cheating to induce delivery of property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 66D (cheating by personation) of the Information Technology Act, 2008.

As per the FIR, the retired Judge was first added to a WhatsApp group named "Aditya Birla Equity Learning Group" and was promised 850 per cent returns in online share trading.

It is further stated in the FIR that between December 4 and December 24, 2024 he transferred Rupees 90 Lakhs through IMPS and RTGS and he was not paid any profit or repaid the principle amount.

As per the FIR, the statement of the retired Judge was recorded at his residence by the Police.

The FIR names two women as the accused.

Justice Nambiar enrolled as an Advocate in November 1975 and joined the Kerala State Judicial Service as Munsiff and was promoted to the post of sub judge in December 1985. He worked as sub judge in Ernakulam and Kottayam. He was promoted to the post of district and sessions judge in October 1990. He worked as MACT Manjeri, Enquiry Commissioner and Additional District Judge at Trivandrum and Kottayam till June 1999.

He served as Additional Sessions Judge, Kottayam from June 1999 to May 2001, and as District Judge, Trivandrum from June 2001 to April 2002. Before his elevation to the High Court, he was appointed as Registrar of the Kerala High Court in April 2002.
