The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Judicial Officer Mridul Kumar Kalita to be an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court.

This comes after the Supreme Court Collegium had in its meeting held on January 10 2023 approved the proposal for elevation of Mridul Kumar Kalita as Judge in the Gauhati High Court.

The appointment was notified vide notification released on the Law Ministry’s official website.

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Mridul Kumar Kalita, to be an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court, for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”, the notification read.
