Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission is organising a National Conclave on Legal Rights of Tribal People, which will be held on 20th July 2025 (Sunday) at the IMA Hall in Kaloor, Ernakulam, Kerala, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Who can attend Conclave?

The Conclave can be attended by lawyers, law students, those associated with NGOs working for tribal welfare and anyone intending to work for the empowerment of tribals, with prior free online registration.

Objectives of the Conclave

This Conclave aims to initiate a movement to support the Tribal brethren in securing legal aid and establishing their legitimate rights. Participants will have the opportunity to be part of this initiative.

The Conclave will have three sessions on the following subjects:

  • Constitutional Rights of Tribal People
  • Civil and Criminal Laws for the Protection of the Tribal Community
  • Building Community-Level Legal Redressal Systems

Key Speakers:

  1. Adv Ritwik Dutta;
  2. Sri. Laxman Singh Markam (INAS);
  3. Sri. Milind Thatte;
  4. Dr. P. Leelakrishnan.

Senior Judges of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala will also grace the occasion by speaking on the subject.

Why Students Should Attend?

Attending the Conclave will be a good learning experience for students. Participation in the Conclave is free, and participants will be served lunch and refreshments without any charges.

Also, The participating students will also be given a Certification of Participation. Participants are required to register online to confirm participation, as seats are limited.

Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission is an NGO that has completed two decades in the service of tribal communities in Kerala in 2024. To commemorate this, we are organising 'Utkarsh- In Search of New Heights'. The Conclave is part of ‘Utkarsh’, a series of events organized with the objective of engaging with different stakeholders working for the welfare of tribal communities, for exchange of ideas, evolution of new thoughts, analysis of impact and planning for the future.
