The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the posts of Legal Officer (LO) in Legal and Treaties Division, Ministry of External Affairs and Assistant Legal Advisor (ALA) in Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Location: New Delhi

No. of Posts: LO- 2; ALA- 5

Remuneration:

• LO: Level- 12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

• ALA: Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Educational Qualification: LL.B./LL.M.

Eligibility:

• LO: (i) Master's degree in Law with specialization in the field of International Law or International Relations or International Organizations from a recognized University; and (ii) Ten years’ experience as an Advocate in a Court of law in India or in the legal services of the Government or teaching or conducting or guiding research in the field of law from recognized university or institute of which at least eight years shall be in the field of International Law or international relations, after acquiring minimum educational qualification.

• ALA- (i) Degree in law from a recognized University or Institute; and (ii) Three years experience at bar dealing with criminal laws or fiscal laws. OR (i) Master’s Degree in law from a recognized University orInstitute; and (ii) One year experience at bar dealing with criminal laws or fiscal laws.

Age Limit: LO- 50 years; ALA- 40 years
