In a move to provide citizens with a closer look at its history and functioning, the Supreme Court of India has announced the commencement of Guided Tours of its premises on selected Saturdays.

According to an official notification, the tours will be conducted on every working Saturday, excluding the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and declared holidays. "In pursuance of the directions of the Competent Authority, the Guided Tour shall be conducted on every working Saturday, except 2nd & 4th Saturdays and declared Holidays," it read.

Tour Details

The Guided Tour will take visitors through various parts of the Supreme Court premises with historical significance. The tours are divided into four time slots:

1. 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

2. 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM

3. 02:00 PM to 03:30 PM

4. 03:30 PM to 05:00 PM

Visitors will be accompanied by guides throughout the tour to provide insights into the historical and architectural elements of the court. "The visitors will be accompanied throughout the tour of Supreme Court premises and introduced to various parts of historical importance. For the smooth conduct of Guided Tour, prior online booking is mandatory," the Circular dated January 9 says.
