The Supreme Court Rules Amendment Committee has initiated a consultative exercise to review and amend the Supreme Court Rules, 2013. The Committee is also considering updates to the Handbook on Practice and Procedure and Office Procedure, 2017.

In a notice issued today the Committee has invited suggestions and views from all stakeholders in the justice delivery system. The aim is to ensure that the process remains comprehensive, inclusive, and in tune with contemporary judicial needs.

Stakeholders have been requested to submit their feedback via email only to [email protected] on or before May 1, 2025. The Committee has clarified that no hard copy submissions will be entertained.

Registrar (SCR), P. Y. Ladekar, signed the notice which read, “In order to make the exercise an exhaustive one and finetune the existing Practice & Procedure, all stakeholders in the justice delivery system are requested to submit their suggestions/views in this regard, i.e., either having a bearing on the said Rules and/or the Handbook on Practice and Procedure and Office Procedure, 2017.”
