Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Judicial Appointments Across Bombay, Madras & Patna High Courts
The Supreme Court Collegium, in a meeting held on February 20, 2025, resiolved to recommend several judicial appointments across various High Courts.
First, the Collegium recommended the confirmation of three additional judges from the Bombay High Court as permanent judges. The three judges are:
- Justice Shailesh Pramod Brahme,
- Justice Firdosh Phiroze Pooniwalla,
- Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain.
In addition, the Collegium recommended renewing the term of Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, an additional judge at the Bombay High Court, for one more year.
In another notification, the Collegium also recommended the confirmation of four additional judges at the Madras High Court as permanent judges. These judges are:
- Justice Ramasamy Sakthivel,
- Justice P Dhanabal,
- Justice Chinnasamy Kumarappan, and
- Justice Kandasamy Rajasekar.
Moreover, the Collegium recommended the appointment of five advocates to the Patna High Court. The recommended advocates are:
- Alok Kumar Sinha,
- Ritesh Kumar,
- Soni Shrivastava,
- Sourendra Pandey, and
- Ansul @ Anshul Raj.
These recommendations were also made during the same Collegium meeting on February 20, 2025.
