The Supreme Court Collegium has resolved to recommend the elevation of five individuals to be the judges of the Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka High Courts.

The recommendations were made during a meeting of the Collegium held on Monday, September 15.

For the Himachal Pradesh High Court, two advocates Jiya Lal Bhardwaj and Romesh Verma have been recommended for appointment as judges.

In Karnataka, the Collegium has proposed the elevation of three judicial officers as judges of the High Court. The district judges recommended for elevation are:

  • Geetha Kadaba Bharatharaja Setty
  • Muralidhara Pai Borkatte
  • Tyagaraja Narayan Inavally

Additionally, the Collegium has recommended that Justice Kurubarahalli Venkataramareddy Aravind, currently serving as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court, be appointed as a permanent judge.

These appointments are subject to approval by the President of India following consultation with the Union Government.
