Gujarat HC Judge Who Refused To Stay Rahul Gandhi's Conviction Among 23 High Court Judges Recommended For Transfer By Collegium
The Supreme Collegium headed by Cheif Justice D.Y Chandrachud and comprising Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant, has recommended the transfer of 23 Judges from 8 High Courts to 10 High Courts across India, including Gujarat, Calcutta, Orissa, Rajasthan, Patna, Punjab and Haryana, Allahabad, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Madras. The Collegium has recommended the transfers of the judges for better administration of justice.
Among those transferred is Justice Hemant M Prachchhak of Gujarat High Court, who refused to stay the conviction of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Modi surname defamation case. He has been transferred to the Patna High Court.
