The Supreme Court Collegium resolved to recommend the transfer of Justice Alok Aradhe, currently the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, to the Bombay High Court as its Chief Justice.

Additionally, it suggested the transfer of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, the current Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, to the Delhi High Court.

The Collegium issued a statement confirming the recommendation on January 07, 2025.

Justice Aradhe began his judicial career as an additional judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court in 2009 and became a permanent judge in 2011. He was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in 2016, where he briefly served as Acting Chief Justice in 2018. Later, he joined the Karnataka High Court as a judge in 2018 and served as Acting Chief Justice in 2022. In July 2023, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Meanwhile, Justice Upadhyaya is recommended to replace Justice Vibhu Bakhru, the acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, if the recommendation is approved by the Central Government.
