The Supreme Court today has agreed to hear the plea moved by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia against his arrest by CBI in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

We will take it up after mentioning,” said a bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud and comprising Justice PS Narasimha upon being mentioned for urgent listing.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned the matter and said, “This, milords, will fall within the decision in Vinod Dua and Jagisha Arora (wife of Journalist Prashant Kanojia)”.

The Court posted the matter for hearing at 3:50 pm today, after the Constitution Bench scheduled for today rises.

Earlier, a Delhi Court remanded Sisodia to CBI custody till March 4, who was booked on charges of corruption relating to the now-scrapped excise policy.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi also mentioned the Punjab Government's plea against the refusal of the Governor to grant permission to the government to summon the budget session of the state assembly scheduled to begin on March 3.

The Chief Justice agreed to consider that matter also at 3.50 pm, after the sitting of the Constitution Bench.
