"This Kind Of Gunda Raj Isn't Acceptable To Us": Supreme Court Asks Lawyer Attacked At Tis Hazari District Court To Lodge Complaint Before Delhi High Court Chief Justice
The Court also remarked that this means the failure of the rule of law and asked the lawyer to forward the complaint to the Supreme Court as well.

The Supreme Court has remarked that "Gunda Raj" is unacceptable and asked a lawyer, who alleged physical assault inside a courtroom at a district court on February 7 here, to approach the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
The Bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice NV Anjaria said, "Please go and make a complaint to the Chief Justice within the course of the day and mark that to me as well...Let me deal with it...Let the High Court Chief Justice take cognizance. Action will be on the administrative side. How can they misbehave like this...This kind of 'Gunda Raj' is not acceptable to us. Go and make a complaint to the High Court immediately...This means the failure of the rule of law. Do this and tell me..."
The Counsel mentioned his plea for urgent listing before a bench.
Counsel submitted, "May I mention a very urgent matter. While I was appearing in the Tis Hazari Court on last Saturday...I was appearing before the Tis Hazari court in a court of ADJ Harjit Singh Pal. I was appearing on behalf of the Accused. The opponent/complainant's advocate, with many goons, in front of the Court, they hit, they immobilise me...attacked me...They hit me, they locked the Courtroom and the judge was sitting right there. All members of the court were there."
"Have you brought to the notice of the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court?", the Court asked him.
He replied, "No...actually, nobody is so supportive...the police are also not providing protection."
"If you are mentioning before me, why are you not mentioning before the head of the Delhi Judiciary, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court?", the Bench said.
"Nobody is touching the matter", the Counsel replied.
"Are you mentioning so that the media can catch the matter? Have you made any written complaint?", Chief Justice Kant said.
Accordingly, the Court asked him to write a formal complaint to the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
