The Delhi High Court has allowed withdrawal of a Petition wherein non-existing case laws were relied upon, including some of the fake paragraphs quoted from such precedents.

The Bench of Justice Girish Kathpalia was considering a Petition assailing the order of the Trial Court. However, after addressing partly, the Senior Counsel for the Petitioner on instructions sought permission to withdraw his Petition.

The Petitioner was represented by Senior Advocate Rakesh Tiku, while the Respondent was represented by Senior Advocate N. Hariharan.

The Senior Counsel and Counsel appearing for Respondents submitted that they would take appropriate steps since some of the judicial precedents cited on behalf of Petitioner do not even exist and in some of the precedents, the quoted portions do not exist.

The Petition and the accompanying Applications were dismissed as withdrawn.
