The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of three advocates as Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court. The appointments were made under the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India.

The Supreme Court Collegium on July 28, 2025 had recommended these names to be appointed as Judges of the Bombay High Court.

According to a notification dated August 13,2025 issued on the Ministry’s website the following advocates have been appointed as Additional Judges, in order of seniority:

  1. Ajit Bhagwanrao Kadethankar
  2. Sushil Manohar Ghodeswar
  3. Aarti Arun Sathe

Their appointments will be for a period of two years, effective from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

The notification read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Ajit Bhagwanrao Kadethankar, (ii) Shri Sushi! Manohar Ghodeswar and (iii) Ms. Aarti Arun Sathe, to be Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”
