The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of 2 Advocates to be judges of the Allahabad High Court.

The Law Minister, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal announced this today through X (formerly Twitter).

The Advocates cleared for judgeship are:

1. Rajiv Lochan Shukla

2. Amitabh Kumar Rai

The tweet read, "In exercise of the power conferred by of the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Amitabh Kumar Rai and (ii) Rajiv Lochan Shukla, Advocates as Judges of the Allahabad High Court."

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names in a meeting held on March 25, 2025.
