Collegium Recommends Elevation Of Two High Court Chief Justices And One Judge As Judges Of The Supreme Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of two High Court Chief Justices and one High Court Judge for elevation as Judges of the Supreme Court.

Following are the names recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium:-

(i) Mr. Justice N.V. Anjaria, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, (Parent High Court: High Court of Gujarat)

(ii) Mr. Justice Vijay Bishnoi, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court, (Parent High Court: Rajasthan High Court)

(iii) Mr. Justice A.S. Chandurkar, Judge, High Court of Bombay

The Collegium took the decision in its meeting held today, as per the statement published by it.

Currently, the Collegium, for the purpose of recommending names as Judges of the Supreme Court comprises of Chief Justice BR Gavai, Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice J.K. Maheshwari and Justice B.V. Nagarathna.
