Supreme Court Collegium Recomends Names Of Five Advocates As Judges Of Calcutta High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended appointment of five Advocates as Judges of the Calcutta High Court.

The Collegium in its meeting held on February 25, 2025 has approved the proposal for appointment of the following Advocates as Judges:

1. Advocate Smita Das De

2. Advocate Reetobroto Kumar Mitra

3. Advocate Md. Talay Masood Siddiqui

4. Advocate Krishnaraj Thaker

5. Advocate Om Narayan Rai

The Calcutta High Court is currently functioning with 43 Judges against a sanctioned strength of 72 Judges.
