Centre Notifies Appointment Of Five Judicial Officers As Judges Of Allahabad High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of five judicial officers as judges of the Allahabad High Court.

The newly appointed judges are:

  • Pramod Kumar Srivastava-II
  • Santosh Rai
  • Zafeer Ahmad
  • Abdul Shahid
  • Tej Pratap Tiwari

These appointments come following recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium. The names of Srivastava, Rai, and Ahmad were proposed by the Collegium on July 01, 2025, while Shahid and Tiwari were recommended earlier in April 2025.

The notification dated August 04, 2025 read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Pramod Kumar Srivastava, (ii) Abdul Shahid, (iii) Santosh Rai, (iv) Tej Pratap Tiwari and (v) Zafeer Ahmad, to be Judges of the Allahabad High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”
