Centre Notifies Appointment Of Acting Chief Justices To Four High Courts Following Recent Supreme Court Elevations

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Acting Chief Justices to Punjab & Haryana High Court, Bombay High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court, and Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court following the elevation of their respective Chief Justices to the Supreme Court of India.
Through a gazette notification dated June 1, the Ministry announced the following appointments:
- Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra as Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, succeeding Chief Justice Justice Sheel Nagu after his elevation to the Supreme Court.
- Justice Ravindra Vithalrao Ghuge as Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, following the elevation of Chief Justice Justice Shree Chandrashekhar.
- Justice Vivek Rusia as Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, after Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva was elevated to the Apex Court.
- Justice Sanjeev Kumar as Acting Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, succeeding Chief Justice Justice Arun Palli.
