The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held today, has recommended elevation of the following Chief Justices of the High Courts as Judges in the Supreme Court:


1. Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court (Parent High Court - Allahabad)

2. Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court (Parent High Court - Allahabad)

3. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, (Parent High Court- Jharkhand)


Currently, Jharkhand has no representation in the Supreme Court. 

If not elevated, Justice Sunita Agarwal would have a tenure in the High Court till April 30, 2028, while Justice Upadhyaya is due to retire on June 16, 2027.  Justice Aparesh Singh is due to retire on July 7, 2027.
