NDPS Court Rejects Bail Application Of Aryan Khan And Others In Cruise Ship Drug Case

Special Judge VV Patil of Mumbai's Special NDPS Court has rejected the bail application of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the cruise ship drug case.

The Court has also rejected the bail pleas of the other two co-accused, Khan's friend- Arbaaz Merchant and fashion model Munmun Dhamecha involved in the same case.

They were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on 3 October after a raid was conducted at the international departure terminal of a cruise ship heading towards Goa, off the Mumbai coast on 2 October.

All the three accused have been booked under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b) (purchase of contraband) 27 (consumption of contraband), 28 (attempt to commit offence), 29 (abetment/conspiracy), and 35(presumption of culpable mental state) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Khan and Merchant are lodged at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai and Dhamecha is lodged at the Byculla women's prison and are under judicial custody.

The Court had reserved its order last Thursday for pronouncing its verdict today.

NCB was represented by Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh while Aryan Khan was represented by Senior Advocate Amit Desai.

Advocate Taraq Sayed appeared for Arbaaz Merchant while Advocate Ali Kashif Deshmukh appeared for Munmum Dhamecha.
