The High Court of Gujarat has launched an automated, daily, Advocate-specific Cause-List delivery service via WhatsApp Business API messaging, starting from October 7, 2026.

As directed by the Acting Chief Justice, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak, the service has been introduced on a pilot basis specifically for advocate-specific daily cause-lists.

The note read, "In a major leap forward to modernize judicial communications and streamline daily court procedures, the High Court of Gujarat, under the guidance of Hon’ble the Acting Chief Justice and the Hon’ble Computer & Technology, Digitalisation, E-Filing and Paper-Less Court Committee, announces the launch of an automated daily Cause-List delivery service via WhatsApp Business API messaging , starting from October 7, 2026 ."

Under the new WhatsApp system, advocate-specific daily cause lists will be auto-generated and sent directly as PDF attachments to the registered WhatsApp numbers of Learned Advocates every evening.

Previously, advocates received a basic SMS notification that the Cause List had been published and were required to manually visit the High Court website and search for the Cause List.

The new system will provide direct document delivery, allowing advocates to immediately view their listed matters with a single tap on their mobile devices, without web browser delays or file search friction.

Following evaluation of the pilot phase, the High Court of Gujarat proposes to expand WhatsApp messaging services to include certified copies of court orders and judgments, case status reports, fee receipts and other eServices directly to Advocates and litigants.

The initiative is aimed at modernizing judicial communications and streamlining daily court procedures.
