Punjab & Haryana High Court Constitutes Through Judicial Order Committee Of Sitting Judges And Others For Building Expansion
Punjab & Haryana High Court constituted an Administrative Committee comprising of representatives of all stakeholders involved to discuss appropriate modifications.

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has constituted a Committee comprising of sitting judges to oversee the implementation of the holistic plan to expand the building, through a judicial order.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sanjiv Berry pursued the the resolution passed by General Body of the Bar Association in which it was stated that the Bar shall make every possible endeavour to secure implementation of the holistic plan and de-reservation of the adjoining forest land for extension of the High Court at its present location.
The Petitioner was represented by Senior Advocate Aashish Chopra, while the Respondent was represented by Addl. Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain.
When the Court was informed that the work as regards laying of green pavers in the kutcha parking area will be concluded in about two months, it noted that it would be appropriate to execute the holistic plan, with appropriate modifications.
It thus deemed appropriate to constitute an Administrative Committee comprising of representatives of all stake-holders involved to discuss as to what would be the appropriate modifications.
"The Administrative Committee shall comprise of two sitting Judges of this High Court (Senior of whom would preside over the Administrative Committee), with two representatives (nominated or elected) of the Bar Association. The U.T. Administration would be represented through its Chief Architect and the Chief Engineer. The Union of India shall be represented by Mr. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India or his nominee. The High Court be represented by the Registrar of the Building Committee and two Members (nominated or elected) of the High Court Employees Association be also included as a Member of the Committee", the Court observed.
It directed that the Committee shall convene its meeting once every week, so that after deliberations on all aspects by taking into account inputs, furnished by all the stake-holders, a holistic view can be taken and the ultimate goal of executing the modified holistic plan can be achieved at the earliest.
