Centre Notifies Appointment Of New Chief Justice Of Bombay High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, announced the appointment on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Judge of the Bombay High Court as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.”

Justice Chandrashekhar, has been serving as a senior judge at the Bombay High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had resolved to recommend the appointment of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court in a meeting held on August 25, 2025.
