The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Mahesh Sharadchandra Sonak, Judge, Bombay High Court, to be the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.
The development was announced by the Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal on X formerly Twitter. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his name in a meeting held on December 18, 2025, along with four others. Yesterday, two other names were cleared by the Ministry through a notification on the website.
The tweet further mentioned the appointment of two additional judges for the Punjab and Haryana High Court:
1. Ramesh Chander Dimri
2. Neerja Kulwant Kalson
