The Allahabad High Court, in a special hearing on Saturday, refused to grant interim relief to Sambhal's Rayan Buzurg Mosque in demolition notices issued by the Uttar Pradesh Government.

The Court was considering a Writ Petition to this regard, which was dismissed with liberty to resort to alternative remedy available under the law.

The Bench of Justice Dinesh Pathak observed, "In my opinion, it is open for the petitioners to move an appropriate application before the appellate court for the interim protection. Application moved on behalf of the petitioners, if any, shall be considered and decided by the appellate court, in accordance with law, on its own merits without being influenced with the order of the date passed by this Court."

The Petitioner was represented by Advocate Aravind Kumar Tripathi, while the Respondent was represented by Chief Standing Counsel J.N.Maurya.

Counsel for the Petitioners had prayed for dismissal of the instant Petition as withdrawn to resort to alternative remedy available under Section 67(5) of the U.P. Revenue Code, 2006 to file an Appeal before the Court Competent i.e. Collector concerned.

The Petition was accordingly disposed of.
